Introduction to Project Basic
A Project Basic is comprised of the following modules:
Workspace - Here you'll find the project's files uploaded in a folder structure.
Communication - Here you have the opportunity to send messages to the project's users.
Project Administration - Here you can add users and assign permissions to the project. You can also find useful data and information about your project here. Note that this area is only accessible to project administrators.
Log - Here you'll find the entire project history. All actions are logged, and if you need to find something specific, you can create your own log filters.
Personal Overviews - Here you can change your notification settings, view your permissions, and request a backup of the project.
Tips and tricks
- Guide to access your project - You can access your project by logging in to www.rib-software.com, clicking on the "Applications" tab, and then selecting "Project".

File management
In the Workspace, you'll find the project's files. You can access most functions by right-clicking on a file, and you can drag files directly from your desktop into a folder to upload it. When you select a file, you'll find file information and additional features on the right side of the project, where you can, among other things, view previous file versions. You can find guides on how to use the features under "Tips and tricks".
Please note that you need to be granted permissions by a project administrator to upload, download, and manage files.
Tips and tricks
- Guide to uploading files - You can upload files by using 'drag and drop' or by using the button function "Upload files".

When uploading new file versions, you should upload them with the same file name and in the same folder as the existing file version - This way, the files will be uploaded 'on top of each other'.
- Guide to downloading files - You can easily download one or more files by selecting the files, right-clicking, and choosing "Download files".
- Guide to searching - Through the search field in the top left corner, you can search for all files and folders in the project.

You can move files around by dragging them to other folders.
Folder management
In the Workspace, the project's files are organized in a folder structure. There will be a defined folder structure that you can use, but you may need to make changes to the structure. You can find the functions by right-clicking on a folder.
Please note that you need to be granted permissions by a project administrator to create, move, and delete folders.

Administration and user rights
As a project administrator, you are responsible for assigning user rights and managing the project, as you have access rights to everything. There can be multiple project administrators, allowing several people to oversee the project.
In the Workspace, users are granted access via a group, and then the group is given rights to specific folders. In your Project Basic, rights are defined, but you may need to make changes to these.
How to - Assign user rights in the Workspace
- Go to "Project Administration" and select the "Users" menu.
- Find the user you want to assign rights to. If you need to invite a new user, you can use this guide: Guide to adding a user.
- The rights overview for the selected user will open in a new window, and under the "Groups" tab, you can check the box next to the group the user should be a member of. If you wish to create a new group, you can follow this guide: Guide to creating groups.
- Go to the Workspace, select the folder you want to assign rights to, and click the "Set folder permissions" button.
- Assign access to the group by checking the desired rights.
Tips and tricks
- You can find an overview of group permissions by going to "Project Administration" and then the "System Information" menu. Here you can find "Folder Permissions by Group".
- Guide to History and Log - Under the module "Log", you can access all the logs for your project. You can create custom log filters and search for the exact log you want.
