Generate a location structure from Revit
Purpose
Generate a location structure from the 3D model so that all transferred drawings are linked to their relevant locations.
Background
When you generate the location structure for your Connex project directly from Revit, all floor plans are transferred to the locations. This saves you a lot of time because drawings and locations are set up at the same time.
Things you should be attentive to
- Only project administrators can create a location structure.
- You can create as many locations as you need.
- You need to download and install the RIB Connex plugin for Revit.
How to
- Go to the "Connex" tab and click the "Exporter" button
- Log in with your RIB user
- Select your Connex Project
- Select a location or create a new one
- Go to the "Generate" tab
- Select "target location" - or leave it blank if you want to generate a completely new structure
- Select "image quality" - it is set to the most common setting as default
- Select "image file type" - the file type that drawings should be transferred in
- Select "print set" - the plans to be transferred. You can also create new print sets directly from the plugin.
- Click on "Upload"
- Your location structure will now be generated and you can see it in the "Location structure" tab
Upload a model from Revit
Purpose
Upload the model for your Connex project directly from Revit.
Background
To avoid having to export the model from Revit and then upload it to Connex as a manual process, you can transfer the model directly from Revit through the RIB Connex plugin.
How to
- Go to the "Connex" tab and click the "Exporter" button
- Log in with your RIB user
- Select your Connex Project
- Select a location or create a new one
- Go to the "Upload Settings" tab
- Enter the name of the model
- Choose if the model should be optimized for mobile viewing
- Choose if you want to ignore empty parameters
- Select the view to be transferred with the model
- Click "Upload"
- Your model is uploaded and you can then view it under the "3D models" tab
Open a drawing or model through the plugin
Purpose
Check if you have transferred the correct drawing models from Revit to Connex.
