User groups
Purpose
With user groups, you can quickly assign multiple users the same access, as well as get an overview of rights to the various modules in your Connex Project.
Background
You can create all the user groups you need, invite users directly to the user groups, and assign the user groups access to specific areas in your Connex Project.
Things you should be attentive to
- Only project administrators can handle user groups.
- When you have created a user group you can assign it to a communication channel and checklists.
How to
- Open your Connex Project
- Select the module "Project administrator"
- Click the menu "Users"
- Click the button "Create user group"
- Enter the name of the user group
- Click the button "Create user group"
- Now you can add users, or click skip, and add users later
- When the user group has been created, you have several options:
- You can invite users to the user group, and either rename or delete the group by clicking on the three dots.
- You can use drag and drop to drag users from the user directory into your user group.
- You can grant access to groups in communication channels and checklists.
Invite a project administrator
Purpose
Invite administrative users to your project.
Background
When you create a project, you automatically become the owner of the project. You can add other users to your project and assign them the following roles: project administrator and project owner.
Things you should be attentive to
- Administrative users cannot create tasks until they are added to a communication channel.
How to
- Open your Connex Project
- Select the module "Project administrator"
- Click the menu "Users"
- Click the button "Manage administrators"
- Click "Add project admins"
- Search for the user or enter the email address on the user you want to add
- Select a role (Project administrator or owner)
- Click "Send invite"
Add a user group administrator
Purpose
A user group administrator can add and remove users to the user group they manage.
Background
User group administrators can be a great help on larger projects where you want to delegate the task of adding users. Or want more flexibility in user administration.

- Only project administrators and user group administrators can assign the "User group administrator" role.
How to
- Open your Connex Project
- Select the module "Project administrator"
- Click the menu "Users"
- Expand a user group
- Click the "Invite user group administrator" button
- Search for a user or enter an email address
- Click "Send invitations”

- Open a communication channel
- Click on a group in the communication channel
- Click the "Invite a group admin" button
- Search for a user or enter an email address
- Click "Send invitations”
