Upload drawings from Revit

Purpose

Upload drawings to the workspace in your RIB project, directly from Revit.

Background

To avoid having to export drawings from Revit and then upload them to your project as a manual process, you can transfer the drawings directly from Revit through the RIB Project plugin.

In addition, your setup is saved, so if you need to update drawings later, you can use your existing setup to transfer new versions.

How to

1. Go to the "RIB Project" tab and click the "Exporter" button
2. Log in with your RIB user
3. Select your project
4. Click on the "Map Sheets" tab
5. Select a print set or create a new one
6. Select the folder in the workspace you want to upload the drawings to
7. Click "Upload"

Upload a model from Revit

Purpose

Upload a model to the workspace in your RIB project, directly from Revit.

Background

To avoid having to export models from Revit and then upload them to your project as a manual process, you can transfer models directly from Revit through the RIB Project plugin.

How to

1. Go to the "RIB Project" tab and click the "Exporter" button
2. Log in with your RIB user
3. Select your project
4. Click on the "Map Views" tab
5. Select the folder in the workspace you want to upload to
6. Enter the name of the model
7. Select the view you want to upload
8. Click "Upload View"

Open a drawing or model through the plugin

Purpose

Check if you have transferred the correct drawings and models from Revit to Project.

Background

Once you've transferred drawings and models, it can be nice to check if everything looks right. You can do this through the RIB Project plugin in Revit, so you don't have to leave Revit to check your setup.

How to

1. Go to the "RIB Project" tab and click the "Exporter" button
2. Log in with your RIB user
3. Select your project
4. Go to the "Content" tab
5. Navigate to your drawings and models in the folder structure
6. Click on a drawing or model
7. The drawing or model now opens in the integrated BIM Viewer in the plugin.
