How to create and use templates?

Description:

Templates can be used to create new lists, so much of the set up is already done. 

Templates can typically be used and set up two ways: 

  • Company specific template: Fields are created so that future projects by the company gather the data.
  • Project specific template; Drawings, sections and locations is set up for consistency when creating more and different types of lists.  

Step by Step - Create a template:

  1. Login to www.rib-software.co.uk
  2. Go the the tab "Applications"
  3. Select the icon/menu "Capture"
  4. Select either "Defect Management" or "Quality Control"
  5. Select "New" by "Template" 
  6. Select either "Blank template" or "Template based on copy"
  7. Enter the name of the template
  8. Select optionally a "Design template" to create a template from

Step by Step - Create a list from a template:

  1. Login to www.rib-software.co.uk
  2. Go the the tab "Applications"
  3. Select the icon/menu "Capture"
  4. Select either "Defect Management" or "Quality Control"
  5. Select "New"
  6. Select "By payment"
  7. Enter the name of the list
  8. Select the type of the list (There is no difference on the setup of the list or the functions)
  9. Select the design template you want to use
  10. Select the license period and mark the field "Acceptance of price and terms"
  11. Finish and create the list by clicking "OK"
