The role as a company administrator
Purpose
Understand the company administrator role.
Background
As a company administrator you have the rights to administrate the company your user is added to. That means you are able to create, administrate and deactivate users, and in general administrate the account of your company in RIB.
Thing you should be attentive to
- This role does not give you the necessary rights to administrate applications.
- It is not possible to be added to more than one company.
Approve and create company users
Purpose
Accept a user who's about to be added to your company and create a new user.
Background
As a company administrator you have the responsibility for approving users who are added to the company. This can happen if the user is created with a company-email. The company domain is added to the company so the company users can add themselves easily when creating a user.
You can also create new users directly in your company.
Things you should be attentive to
- When a users awaits approval, all the company administrators will receive an email about this.
How to
Approve a user
- Login to www.rib-software.eu.com
- Go to the tab "Company space" in the blue toolbar
- Select the "Company users" from the menu in the left side
- Click on the user requesting access
- Click "Accept user"
Create a user directly in your company
- Login to www.rib-software.eu.com
- Go to the tab "Company space" in the blue toolbar
- Select the "Company users" from the menu in the left side
- Click the "New"
- Enter the user information and the settings
- Scroll to the bottom and make sure the "Send login information to user by e-mail" is marked
- Click "OK"
Delete and deactivate company users
Purpose
Delete and deactivate users in your company.
Background
As a company administrator, you can delete users from your company. If you don't want to remove a user completely, you can block the user access instead.
Things you should be attentive to
- Sometimes a user can't be deleted. This is caused by the users access to a tender, or if the user is owner of a project. In these cases we recommend you deactivate the user.
How to
Delete a user
- Login to www.rib-software.eu.com
- Click the tab "Company space" in the blue toolbar
- Select the "Company users" from the menu in the left side
- Select/open the user you want to delete
- Click "Edit"
- Click "Delete"
- Click "OK"
Deactivate a user
- Login to www.rib-software.eu.com
- Click the tab "Company space" in the blue toolbar
- Select the "Company users" from the menu in the left side
- Select/open the user you want to deactivate
- Click "Edit"
- Scroll to the "Access to RIB" under the User settings
- Select "Blocked" in the drop-down menu
- Click "OK"
NB: The user can be seen under the "Users without access" in the menu "Company users" (See attached screenshot below)
Give a user company administrator rights
Purpose
Give a user company administrator rights.
Background
If you want to make your colleague a company administrator, you have to be a company administrator. It is possible to be multiple administrators for one company.
Things you should be attentive to
- When you are multiple administrators, you all have the rights to administrate and approve users in the company.
How to
- Login to på www.rib-software.eu.com
- Click the tab "Company space"
- Select the "Company users" from the menu in the left side
- Select/open the user you want to make a company administrator
- Click "Edit"
- Scroll down to the setting "Company administrator" below the User settings
- Select "Yes" in the drop down menu
- Click "OK"
